Four works by Cherubino Gambardella, Beniamino Servino, Edouard Francois and Antonio Jimenez De Torrecillas

Milan, 13 March 2008 The calendar of exhibitions at FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti’s Spazio FMG for Architecture is continuing in the run-up to the XXIII World Congress of the UIA, of which it is the main sponsor. Spazio FMG, at via Bergognone, 27 in Milan, is inaugurating the exhibition entitled “La storia è viva. Quattro opere di: Cherubino Gambardella, Beniamino Servino, Edouard Francois e Antonio Jimenez De Torrecillas” [History lives. Four works by Cherubino Gambardella, Beniamino Servino, Edouard Francois and Antonio Jimenez De Torrecillas]: a survey of the recent work of four European architects, four creative spirits’ approaches to new lifestyles, traditions and landscapes.
Spazio FMG plays host to images, documents and models showing the work of four architects who highlight a new way of using the historic heritage:
Cherubino Gambardella. Project for the Palazzo d'oro, one of southern Italy's finest fortified castles, in the centre of Montesarchio, a small town near Benevento. (2007)
Edouard Francois. The project for the Fouquets Barriere Hotel and Boutique, one of the 21st Century's latest French luxury hotels, standing in the heart of Paris, on the corner of the Champs-Elysées and Avenue George V. (2006)
Beniamino Servino. Winner of the X International Award Architecture in Stone 2007: house with pavilion in the Volturno river valley. (1999-2007)
Antonio Jimenez Torrecillas. Winner of the X International Award Architecture in Stone 2007: Muralla Nazarí, Alto Albaicin area, Granada. (2006)
Spazio FMG is a gallery holding exhibitions of architecture only, run by Luca Molinari with sponsorship from the Milan City Council in association with Corriere della Sera. After "La città è viva" [The city lives], from 17 April to 10 May, to coincide with Fuorisalone, Spazio FMG will be hosting the FMGxtreme exhibition-event with an installation by Aldo Cibic; in this context the gallery will also be home to the World Architecture Congress infopoint.
