FMGxtreme → XXIII UIA World Congress
From 17th April until 10th May Spazio FMG per l’Architettura by FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti presents an exhibition entitled FMGxtreme and illustrates a project in which FMG plays a central role, as the main sponsor, of the 23rd World Congress of Architecture.
In this setting Spazio FMG officially kicks off the journey towards Turin 2008, also hosting the World Congress of Architecture infopoint.
A new installation by Aldo Cibic and a video-story explaining how LOT-EK (New York) and Italo Rota (Milan) have interpreted FMGxtreme, the project-laboratory by Luca Molinari where natural stones by FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti are the protagonists of extreme renditions of the most radical, advanced ideas in contemporary architecture.
“FMGxtreme has involved some of the most innovative and avant-garde studios in the International arena in an active and unique relationship between the world of design and that of production. The studios, supported by FMGlab technicians, have designed eco-sustainable micro-environments in a futuristic vein which provide an important stimulus for meaningful reflection on the future of architecture.” (Luca Molinari)
LOT-EK (New York): the environment is compact, a monolith crossed by a canyon to “enter” into the essence of the material
Italo Rota (Milan): material goes back to its origins. The elements in marble and granite by Iris FMG are brought back to life in the “mineral” walls and in the central space which looks to the future through primitive eyes.
Aldo Cibic (Vicenza): a gallery-tunnel built using a new natural stone by FMG, an installation with great visual impact situated in via Bergognone 27, in front of the entrance to the gallery.
Spazio FMG per l’Architettura is a gallery dedicated entirely to the world of architecture, promoted by FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti in partnership with Corriere della Sera newspaper and under the patronage of Milan City Council.
