Spazio FMG’s appointments
19 October - 9 November 2007 Den-City - Living in density. Works by: Metrogramma/Milan and Périphérique/Paris By Luca Molinari and Nicola Russi.
The term ‘density’ has always been linked to a negative idea of a contemporary metropolis. In recent years, some of the most stimulating architectural experiments have been developed based on these words, looking to the future and possible ways to live in a home. Recent works, by two of the most interesting and evolved studios on the European scene, Périphériques in Paris and Metrogramma in
Milan , display this trend and line of research through experimental and highly provocative projects.
14-24 November 2007; auction 27 November 2007 Architecture and Italian and international design for Villa Sclopis By Luca Molinari and Simona Galateo.
Villa Schlopis is the courageous project for a public hospice, desired by a group of voluntary doctors in Ivrea, formed gratuitously by Michele De Lucchi. A hospice is a place where the terminally ill choose to spend their last months; a hospice is both a home and a hospital, a place for silence and care. The villa has been restored over recent years, but the area for those suffering from Alzehimers is still lacking. This exhibition has been created to call for donations from the architectural and design world, in order to collect funds which will be destined to the completion of this area. Plans and models were requested from seventy affirmed and emerging protagonists including Mendini, Sottass, Fuksas, Chipperfield, Gregotti, Cibic, Siza, Rota, Ron Arad; This subject matter will be animating an architecture exhibition held at Spazio FMG, following which there will be a public auction at Triennale in Milan.
January 2008 Italo Rota. Black Box.
For some years, Italo Rota, has been working on the creation of a park, a Hindu temple near Mumbai in India as well as collaborating in some provocative exhibits in the whole of Europe. Rota is considered to be one of the most interesting and stimulating Italian architects on the international scene, with recent works for the new Art Museum in Milan, Il Padiglione dell’Acqua for the Expo Universale di Saragozza in 2008, the next exhibition is with Peter Greenaway from the Museo del Design at Triennale in
Milan . The exhibition will portray this author’s unique point of view on the possible and visionary future for the cities and the spaces we will be living in.
